A finished quilt top and some pretty fabric!

Finally I have a quilt top finished! (Remember this project? I started it during Simply Retro Quilt Along) . I wasn't happy with the size of the top without borders, so I added some. Choosing the fabric for borders also took me some time. I'm always trying to get a more scrappy look in my projects even when I work with collections (this one is HoneySweet by Fig Tree) so I get some fabric from a different collection to make the borders.

This is Mirabelle Breeze Mini Daises from Mirabelle collection also by Fig Tree... a very cute fabric! I wish I had more to mix in future projects!

The binding is also done. I mixed some batiks I got in my Grab Bag from Fat Quarter Shop (more about it here).

I also have something new coming... but, I'll have to keep some secret until I tell you what I'm gonna make with this collection! It's a bundle of Cloud Up Parasol by Heather Bailey for Free Spirit

As you can see I'm in love with greens lately... aqua already has a place in my heart but and I'm completed minded for the mix between my two favorite colors.

I also found this mint green from Pat Bravo Pure Elements Solids collection. It was hard to capture the color but it's a really gorgeous solid. It's called Tender Green.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Your quilt turned out so pretty! Love the fabrics. I love aqua. There's just something about the color that draws me to it. Can't wait to see your Heather Bailey project.

Congrats on the quilt top finish. I love the look of fig tree fabrics, and the two collections blend well together. I looked into one of those grab bags... But I'm trying to use up my stash.

Did you follow a pattern or make this up on your own? I was thinking it might be a good use of my over flowing scrap bins...
